Tour Overview

4 Day Kayaking & 3 Night In A Remote Kayak Lodge, All-Inclusive

Glamping with Majestic Ocean Kayaking includes 3 nights in a remote kayak lodge in the Broken Group Islands, and 4 days of stunning guided kayaking. Miles of spectacular paddling among countess reefs, islands and islets awaits. Outer islands present the drama of crashing waves and sea arches carved over millennia, while the inner islands are more serene, and offer a glimpse into 10,000 years of First Nations history.

Your room will be waiting or you at this strategically-located lodge just north of the Broken Group Islands. Enjoy the lodge and its surroundings - especially the view from the hot tub overlooking the ocean! After a full day of paddling, take a hot shower before dinner (6pm). The meals are all excellent, offering a delicious, varied menu (breakfast, lunch & dinner) served by very friendly staff.

We will bing along kayaking snacks, so there is no need to worry about bringing your own. Enjoy the campfire at night with other paddlers, and hear some great stories and information from your guide. Each day you will explore the Broken Group Islands with your guide, and on one of the days Gary and his cruiser boat will pick you up and take you further out from the lodge so that you will be able to explore some of the more remote islands, customized to meet the needs of the group.

n the final day of the trip, after packing the kayaks with your personal items, we will enjoy the day exploring, and stopping for lunch on one of the islands as we make our way to Secret Beach, at Toquaht Bay. At 3:30pm, the shuttle truck and trailers will transfer the group back to our Ucluelet base for a 5pm arrival.

Safety Promise

Majestic Ocean Kayaking has been leading tours on the west coast of Vancouver Island since 1993. Our kayak guides are well-equipped, trained, and practiced in the use of a variety of safety equipment and procedures. We hold all the required permits set out by Parks Canada and BC Parks, and are always respectful of their guidelines for operation. Our guides are all experienced kayakers, highly qualified, and certified to the standards required by the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia, including current wilderness first aid certification. They are all experienced outdoors people who lead and participate in their own trips and adventures in the off season. They know the best areas to paddle, and also the tricks of our weather.

All of our guests will be given a demonstration of our equipment, a lesson on basic paddling strokes and skills, and an explanation of safety procedures. We provide our guests with all the necessary equipment to outfit a kayak safely, including a PFD, sprayskirt and pump. Your guide will lead the tour and is in charge of safety at all times. We travel as a group and always stay close together; any guests having difficulty paddling will receive extra assistance. Our guides are experienced at leading tours to suit both novice and experienced paddlers alike, ensuring that everyone will enjoy their tour.

Our trips are fun and educational, with a conscious regard for safety and for our environmental impact on the land and water at all times. As stewards of these precious ecosystems, we set an example by closely following national park policies, as well as our own high ethical standards, in order to minimize our impact on the environment.

In all aspects of our business, from our kayaking tours, guides, office staff, food, landscaping, and our purchasing decisions, we are constantly striving to improve and make our practices more sustainable and environmentally sound. We welcome all feedback and suggestions. Environmental Stewardship

At Majestic Ocean Kayaking, we take our role as environmental stewards seriously. We keep to established tent sites and trails, compost our food waste, and dispose of all garbage responsibly. We follow Leave-No-Trace principles in the backcountry, storing food out of reach of wildlife, and minimizing campfire impacts. We respect all wildlife that we encounter; keeping in mind that sightings are precious to our guests, but always maintaining a respectful and safe distance.

We are proud to support the work of local conservation and naturalist groups such as the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Tofino Shorebird Society, the Central West Coast Forest Society and the Wild Pacific Trail. We regularly get our hands dirty by organizing and participating in beach cleanups in the areas that we visit. We are also very proud of our role as educators. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of the natural and cultural histories of the areas we work in, while teaching our guests about minimum impact philosophies and practices that they can carry forward to use in their own lives and travels.

We went on the Glamping in the Broken Group Islands, 4 Day Kayaking & 3 night Lodge stay. Our guide, Eric, was extremely knowledgeable and selected timely moments to share information while giving us space to savour the peace and calm of the Broken Group experience. Eric customized our kayaking effort to our abilities and some how cultivated pride in our daily accomplishments (the 4 of us are 60+). The staff at the lodge were pleasant and the meals were good. We are so glad we went with the Majestic Team - their equipment is top of the line and they went above and beyond to ensure a first rate experience. Thank you Majestic!
