Office Position - Not Accepting Applications
Reservations Clerk Position
Be A Part Of Our Team.
Job Summary: Work in Majestic Kayaking office under the direction of the owner, sell kayaking tours. Take reservations and maintain calendars, give customer service in person at the desk, over the phone and by written communication with computer. Take payments from guests.
Duties and Responsibilities: Office skills required for sales, for kayaking reservations, accuracy of reservation details and calendars; handling cash, replying to emails, telephone calls and walk-in inquiries; communications with guests and co-workers. Physically capable of assisting with kayaking departures and carrying kayaks.
Follow company policies regarding presentation of information to guests and regarding the activities of the position. Ensure the delivery of service to guests that meets or exceeds what we are selling on the website.
The position requires knowledge and experience with computer programs, Microsoft, excel, word, outlook. Successful applicants would have post-secondary education in outdoor recreation or business office training. Interest in learning about the area, the culture and the environment is required.
Relationships: Internal relationships with the owner, manager, office staff, other guides, clients. Guest relations, community relations; chamber of commerce, other bb owners, other tour companies. Locals working in the tourism sector.
Problem solving: Working in the office, with the calendars, ensuring accuracy, balancing cash. Working with many different types of people with varying physical abilities and expectations. Will need to be creative and at the same time, sensitive to many internal and external factors influencing the guests and co-workers.
Authority: To make reservations, communicate and commit to the guests, take payments as per the procedure manual and office procedure guidelines. To report to the owner and administrative staff.
Accountability: Ensure the accuracy of your work. The safety, happiness and comfort of each guest and to be accountable for the successful final outcome of the tour for each individual. To meet or exceed their expectations.
Special circumstances: To be able to work in varying stressful conditions. Be resourceful and capable to be prepared if something goes wrong. Ask questions if you don’t know the answer.
Performance indicators: Happy guests and great guest reviews, returning guests. Things run smoothly, job satisfaction, and excellent performance assessment at end of season.
