Majestic Ocean kayaking is proud to be a member of; and we follow the operating standards of the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia.

All our guides are certified kayak guides, with wilderness first aid and cpr training. Our guides are very committed to working at Majestic Ocean Kayaking, some have been with us for several years, they come back to enjoy the beauty of the area, the wildlife, and because they love kayaking around Ucluelet.

We provide in house training for all our staff every year to review the systems that we have in place, the safety procedures, rescues and emergency protocols. We have a lot of fun together getting really technical about our paddling and teaching skills, something that we can pass on to our clients.

Beyond our certification requirements, when selecting our guides, we look for people who have an impressive paddling career background, a lifetime of outdoor adventure experience and training.

Many of our guides are bilingual, they are knowledgeable about the natural environment, the history of the area and the wildlife.

Tracy made Ucluelet her home and started Majestic Ocean Kayaking 25+ Years ago. Today she is even more committed to providing an exceptional experience to all the Majestic Ocean Kayaking clients. After a 15-year career of kayak guiding around the Broken Group Islands and Clayoquot Sound, you will now find Tracy at our base, managing operations and looking after guests. She loves feeding people delicious food and is always coming up with new menu ideas for the tours. In the past, Tracy has been an avid volunteer, a director for 13 years with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, a director for the Wild Pacific Trail Society, and Tourism Ucluelet Society. Tracy now gives her time sharing her kayak business experience and mentoring the new generation of guides that are stepping up and carrying on her legacy.

Ted Eeftink

Assistant Overnight Guide

Ted’s local knowledge, passion for local history and seamanship abilities come from his lifetime of experience and training and living on the west coast. He was born in Ucluelet, raised his family here and is a certified kayak guide with extensive first aid and rescue training. Ted is retired from being the Ucluelet Fire Chief and still volunteers for the fire brigade after 25+ years. He runs the company with his wife Tracy, looking after all the equipment and tour departures. Ted is known as a fisherman, avid hiker, licensed mechanic, historian, geologist, and family man.

Gary Bostrom

Captain

Gary and his big sturdy state of the art 33’ boat with cabin and open back deck, the Ms. Judy, provide kayak transport to the Broken Group Islands. Gary is a lifetime resident of the west coast, with 50 years’ experience as a boat captain. He is a kayaker, diver, (you name it!) and retired crab fisherman. His newest love is his 65’ sailboat which he has restored himself, and now spends his winters sailing the Pacific coast from Canada to Mexico.

Eric Boros

Level 3 Kayak Guide
Fluent in French and English.

Eric grew up on Vancouver Island, paddling and sailing with his family. After years travelling and working in Europe, he returned to Canada to pursue his kayaking career on the west coast. He is a Level 3 Guide and Executive Board Member of the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC. In addition, Eric is certified with Paddle Canada Level 4 Skills and is a Level 1 Instructor. He lives year-round in Ucluelet with his wife and daughter

Finn Steiner

Finn Steiner

1st Year at Majestic
Level 3 Kayak Guide
Fluent in German and English.

Finn is a Level 3 Guide and Executive Board Member of the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, a Multisport Grade II Whitewater Instructor with the NZKIA, and Paddle Canada Level 1 and Rolling Instructor. For close to a decade, Finn has instructed and guided sea kayak expeditions, with a focus on connecting people to their surroundings. Finn grew up exploring the waterways of the Central Coast. As a guide he has immersed himself in the coastal rainforests of Haida Gwaii, the peaks and rivers of New Zealand, South America, and Antarctica. His experience and leadership abilities shine through to the guests.

Brayden Cogdale

Ben Anderson

7th Year at Majestic
Level 3 Kayak Guide

Ben has a Tourism and Recreation Management Degree. He is a local guide that grew up on Vancouver Island, this will be his 7th season at Majestic. The west coast of Vancouver Island is one of Ben’s favourite places to surf, explore and hike the alpine. Ben is a backcountry ski guide in the winter. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with his guests and we feel so fortunate to have him working with us at Majestic.

Rodrigo Pizzaro

Rodrigo Pizzaro

3rd Year at Majestic
Level 2 Guide

Rodrigo was born and raised in Punta Arenas, in southern Chile. He acquired his Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC certification in Patagonia and on Vancouver Island. He has been working as a kayak guide in Torres del Paine National Park and around the Province of Ultima Esperanza since 2014. Rodrigo is extremely passionate about whitewater and surf kayaking, travelling, and exploring the outdoors. We are so lucky to have him working with us at Majestic, he is a great addition to the team, and the guests love him too! (and not just for his great cooking talents)

Constanza Fuentes Prado

Cony grew up in Santiago, Chile, and graduated from the Adventure Tourism program at Instituto Duoc UC. An alpine hiking guide in Patagonia, Chile, she also enjoys whitewater kayaking and sea kayaking. International travel and kayaking and just being on the water are what fills her with joy.

Megan is a Ucluelet local who gives her time volunteering and participating in many community events. She is an avid outdoor fanatic who enjoys running, rock climbing, sailing and of course, kayaking. Megan has a Degree in Recreation and Tourism Management from Vancouver Island University and will be starting her Masters of Sport and Recreation this year. When she is not studying, she blesses us with her capabilities here at Majestic.

Nukaiya is a highly driven and enthusiastic junior guide, a recent graduate from Ucluelet Secondary School and a certified Assistant Overnight Guide. Besides kayaking, she spends her spare time painting, playing guitar and unicycling. We are excited to have her as part of our team.

Chef

Chase is from North Vancouver, where he has enjoyed a career of cooking. He attended the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts on Granville Island. Chase is excited about working at Majestic and learning to kayak. He likes the relaxed pace of living in Ucluelet and is interested in making a diverse range of healthy meals for our kayakers. On his time off he enjoys photography, hiking and team sports.

Christy has a Degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, where she was born and raised. She always has a smile on her face and shows her caring attitude with every person that kayaks with her. Christy has a passion for nature, and sustainability is very important to her. Her favourite activities are hiking, camping, and kayaking, with snowboarding being her all-time favourite. She has the perfect lifestyle, summers on the water in Ucluelet and winters on the mountains around Calgary.
