Tracy made Ucluelet her home and started Majestic Ocean Kayaking over three decades ago. Today she is even more committed to providing an exceptional experience to all the Majestic Ocean Kayaking clients. After a 15-year career of kayak guiding around the Broken Group Islands and Clayoquot Sound, you will now find Tracy at our base, managing operations and looking after guests. She loves feeding people delicious food and is always coming up with new menu ideas for the tours. In the past, Tracy has been an avid volunteer, a director for 13 years with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, a director for the Wild Pacific Trail Society, and Tourism Ucluelet Society. Tracy now gives her time sharing her kayak business experience and mentoring the new generation of guides that are stepping up and carrying on her legacy.
Ted was born in Ucluelet, raised his family here, and, as the former local Fire Chief, has extensive first aid and rescue training. His local knowledge, passion for local history and seamanship come from his lifetime of experience living and training on the west coast. Ted still volunteers for the fire brigade after 25+ years. He manages operations of the company with his wife Tracy, and he looks after all the equipment, as well as tour departures. Ted is a fisherman, avid hiker, licensed mechanic, historian, geologist, and family man.
Rita is Majestic Ocean Kayaking’s resident photographer. She can usually be found at the shop, or on an ocean tour photographing all that this amazing place has to offer.
Gary and his big, sturdy state of the art 33’ boat with cabin and open back deck, the Ms. Judy, provide Majestic’s kayak transport to the Broken Group Islands. Gary is a lifetime resident of the West Coast, with 50 years’ experience as a boat captain. He is a kayaker, a diver, a retired crab fisherman…you name it! If it is on the water, Gary has done it. His newest love is his 65’ sailboat which he has restored himself, and he now spends his winters sailing the Pacific coast from Canada to Mexico. Chatting with Gary, while being transported in safety and style, is a highlight for many of our guests!
