1. Kayak Ucluelet Harbour (3 hour sea kayaking tour)

Inside the harbour where there are sheltered waters with no waves, we can paddle up to a beautiful hidden waterfall or visit the local fish hatchery. There is always plenty of wildlife inside Ucluelet Harbour.

Watch for black bears, along the shoreline and eagles circling overhead. Harbour seals pop their heads up to watch us paddle by and sealions call to the fishing docks along the water's edge.

Historic old pre-wartime houses, big steal fishing boats and old wooden trollers tell the story of this quaint fishing village. Option to venture outside the harbour dependant on weather & padding ability of each person.

Outside the harbour we will paddle in outside waters with waves. Spectacular views of the wild weather beaten rocky shores, a family of eagles nesting in the trees over head, sea lions, gigantic kelp beds, an ancient native whaling beach and incredible rock formations.

On route to the park guests will have the opportunity to take in the scenery of the outside west coast waters, rocky bluffs with wind whipped trees, a colony of sea lions, and a historic native whaling beach.

On one of the 100 islands in the park amongst the quiet coves and sheltered bays our guide prepares everyone for a day of adventure. Kayaks are set up for each person, seats adjusted, pedals adjusted. Lessons are given and safety concerns and procedures are explained.

The guide leads the tour and is in charge of safety at all times. Clients having difficulty paddling will receive extra assistance, those capable and confident will enjoy the tour, the ocean and the scenery. We travel as a group and stay close together, if there is a slow paddler we must wait for them, strong paddlers must stay with the group.

After a few hours in the morning we will stop on one of the nearby sandy beaches for a gourmet buffet lunch. Build your own bagel sandwich with a selection of; black forest ham, 2 different kinds of cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, home made cookies, fruit, hot drinks or juice.

As the day progresses, wildlife such as eagles, shore birds, sea lions, seals, mink, river otters, and possibly whales will be sighted. We will weave in and out of the many islands and get in close to look at everything. We may choose to hike into the old growth forest at one of our stops. Our cruiser will pick us up in the afternoon to have us back in Ucluelet by 5:00 pm.
